unable to open files checked out with long filenames, paths

I am using TSVN 1.6.10 from 7/16/2010 for windows.
I created the repository with the 32bit version and use both 32 and 64
bit clients.
I'm the only one using the repo, so I have it located on a network
share.

After checking out, I noticed that a number of the local file icons
did not have green checks on them.
The filenames are correct and long.

Furthermore, these files appear to be valid, but arent. Right clicking
on these files yields the following options: "Open, Print, Open
With..., Send to. "
Delete doesnt work directly on these files, but I can delete them by
deleting the parent folder.

The green checked files work as expected.

I observed that for these problematic files the Path displayed in the
TSVN checkout window is being truncated.
However, the filename/path on the local machine is correct, and when I
copy and paste from the checkout window the full path is there.

Here is what is actually displayed in the checkout window:
"Added: C:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Desktop\GBBS_TG43_CTMR_paper
\Authored Red Journal Papers\pdf references\Nag_Controversies-and-New-
Developments-in-Gynecologic-Brachytherapy-Image-Based-Intracavitary-
Brachytherapy-for-Cervical-Carcinoma_2006_Seminars-in"

Here are the results from copy and paste
"Added: C:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Desktop\GBBS_TG43_CTMR_paper
\Authored Red Journal Papers\pdf references\Nag_Controversies-and-New-
Developments-in-Gynecologic-Brachytherapy-Image-Based-Intracavitary-
Brachytherapy-for-Cervical-Carcinoma_2006_Seminars-in-Rad.pdf"

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Justin
