connect/disconnect

I setup SVN on my linux server and created a user.

I set up tortoise on my windose pc and when I try to connect (Browse repos)
I get connected and then disconnected.

We are on a different port so I edited the network settings in tortoise and
pointed SSH Client to tortoiseplink.exe -P xxxx

I am not using keys... just password auth (I know)

I can ssh into the server with the user account and stay connected... but
tortoise won't stay connected.

I watch /var/log/secure and everything looks great... no error. just session
connected... session disconnected.

Any Ideas what is going on and how to resolve it?
