As already (partially) stated by spongman [1], the dialog in question can be obtained by:
FWIW, I've also recently bumped at this behavior: while selecting a bunch of revisions to merge (about two or three dozens), by clicking in the wrong place the whole items previously selected vanished. That's a bit frustrating while selecting each commit carefully. I've now learned to be very careful when selecting each revision.
Somehow related, I'd also take the opportunity to make a tightly related feature request: after selecting a few revisions and pressing OK, the revisions range is displayed in the "Revisions range to merge" text box. But by copy+pasting a similarly formatted revision list into a fresh dialog and pressing the "Show log" button, the respective commits aren't pre-selected. That would allow a few potentially interesting use-cases:
