Mystery Solved - RE: Accidentally deleted main trunk in repository

From: Robert Lewis <robert.lewis_at_imnmicrocontrol.com>

I have found the solution to my problem of not being able to recover from a
deleted directory and it is related to the OS and version of TortoiseSVN
that I was using.

I was working in Windows XP sp3 with TortoiseSVN 1.6.5 on a network drive.
This version would not do the revert, merge, copy and so forth.

I then tried the same functions on Windows 7 x64 with TortoiseSVN 1.6.8, 32
bit and everything worked perfectly.

Next I removed 1.6.8 on the Win 7 system and installed 1.6.10 and could not
see the icon overlays and I did not get the context menu to access
TortoiseSVN. So I re-installed 1.6.8 and everything is working correctly. To
be fair, there may be some setting that is mentioned in the forum that I
should have tried to get 1.6.10 to work but I did not look for the present.

I redid the tests with 1.6.8 and every operation under Win 7 x64 worked
perfectly.

Thank you to everyone for the help.

Robert

Please read
"Resurrecting Deleted Items" in the svn-book
http://svnbook.red-bean.com/nightly/en/svn.branchmerge.basicmerging.html#svn
.branchmerge.basicmerging.resurrect

That is the theory behind all of it.

Either merge your changes from rev.74, or do a copy from r74, not r73 as you
did.
