Why are you changing your VM settings? A decade ago it may have made
sense, but Windows does a decent job of managing it on its own.

Because some part of the operation is apparently consuming a lot of
memory. You have not yet tested (that I've seen) with the Subversion
command-line client; this is a very important test because it will
help determine where the root cause may be.

It's also possible that you're triggering a bug in your antivirus
software which is consuming mass quantities of memory, which is then
clobbering TSVN.
