Tortoise SVN 1.6.8 prompts for authentication when connecting to a repository

When connecting to a repository, Tortoise SVN 1.6.8 is prompting for authentication. Whereas, if I connect to the same repository using the older versions of Tortoise , it directly connects picking up the authentication for the logged on user(Windows NT account ). Is this feature something newly introduced in Tortoise SVN. A quick response on this would be of great help...
