PPT files are modified when they shouldn't be?

Sometimes PPT files are displayed as modified when they actually aren't.
This is probably more of a Microsoft Office problem than TortoiseSVN,
but if anyone here has run into this problem and has insight, please
share.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open a PPT file which is up-to-date in SVN repository.
2) Make a minor modification to the file, but DON'T SAVE.
3) Close the file and when prompted, do NOT save changes.
4) Notice that the SVN modified status is unchanged, and modification
date is unchanged.
4) Perform SVN Update on the repository
5) Notice that the file status is now "modified", even though I never
saved any changes.

I have noticed that after comparing to the original PPT file, there are
about 2500 extra bytes in the file, so it appears that maybe PPT did add
something to the file, even though the modification date is unchanged.

Anyone seen this before?
