TortoiseSVN Check for modifications and whitespace

I now work on website and sometimes change are made on the website where
we can't have svn. So I copy thefiles to my laptop to put them in
TortoiseSVN.
I use check for modifications to see what's changed. The problem is that
a lot ofthe files are marked modfied, but if I compare them with the
option "ignore whitespace" on they don't differ.
How can I tell Check for modifications to ignore whitespace?
