Sure, it's true. But of course this is a press release :)

Here's the details:

I have a contract with WANdisco which makes me an independent contractor
for them. If they have customers with a problem they can't solve
themselves, WANdisco would contact me with all the information required
and I would have to try and solve that problem. The time I need to solve
that problem would be paid by WANdisco on an hourly basis. Also if they
have a feature request they can pay me to implement it for their customers.
But I'm still working at my normal job (which has nothing to do with
svn/TSVN or WANdisco) so all my contract work would have to be done on
weekends and evenings.

Stefan Fuhrmann has a similar contract with them.

WANdisco however hired svn developers (e.g., Hyrum Wright, Julian Foad
and Philip Martin) and all of them are actively working on the svn core.
And they're also hiring people to work on TSVN, though I haven't seen
any contributions to our sourcecode yet.

I was offered a full time job too, but since I already have a nice job
and with all the complications that arrive 'cause they don't have an
office in my country (i.e., taxes, social security, insurances, ...) I
declined that offer and accepted the contractor role instead.

Hope that clears things up a little bit.

Stefan
