Funny you should ask ...

I dug back through my install and found that I had left the overlays saet to None when trying to bebug SVNcache eating my CPUs lunch.

Selecting Default returns all the icons, but SVNcache starts running non-stop for hours tying up a core.

Selecting Shell gets all my icons back, but now updating results in a "Working copy xxx locked. ...execute Cleanup." Cleanup runs, but there's no change. Nothing shows up as locked.
