Folder icons appear, file icons missing

I have just reinstalled TortoiseSVN (TortoiseSVN 1.6.7, Build 18415 - 32 Bit
, 2010/01/22 17:55:06) on my XP SP3 machine and re-checked out the complete
structure from my server.

The status icon overlays appear for folders, but not for files.

I didn't find any references to this condition in the FAQs. Clearing the
icon cache hasn't helped.

Any suggestions?
