RE: MSI error 0x8007005

From that log file, I've extracted what looks like the relevant message.

MSI (s) (CC:40) [12:12:35:155]: Product: TortoiseSVN 1.6.8.19260 (64 bit) -- Error 1935. An error occured during the installation of assembly component {3FA0170E-227C-37C7-BAC0-64691A992C81}. HRESULT: 0x80070005. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, assembly name: Microsoft.VC90.CRT,version="9.0.30729.4148",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="amd64",type="win32"

In other words, the "access denied" problem concerns the Microsoft-provided "msvcr90.dll" and looks as if it is something to do with the Windows side-by-side DLL system. I don't know how to explore this any further.
