If it is, like Lubbe so kindly points, the "L" in HSL, then it is a
parameter that defines how "luminous" a color is. It is a concept
related to its brightness, used in perceptual color models. In spanish,
the term would be "luminancia", I think.

I do not know about peg revision, but to unfold something is to spread
or straighten it up (in particular, if it was "folded", like a piece of
paper in Origami). In spanish it would be "desdoblar".
