TortoiseSVN 1.6.8 not showing read-only icon overlay

I just upgraded to 1.6.8 on xp sp3, and after repairing the installation to show the icon overlays, I now have a new problem. It seems that files that have the "needs-lock" property set no longer show the gray read-only icon overlay. This isn't a huge issue, but the gray checkmark does remind me (and others) to get the lock before editing the file.
