It has nothing to do with the OS, but with a simple misconfiguration.
Settings dialog->General, click the "Edit" button to edit your svn
config file.
Locate the line
mime-types-file = /path/to/mime.types
and then either remove that line or provide a path that's actually
correct and points to an existing mime types file.
