That's why I said "apparent".

I'd like to stress that I am satisfied with the explanation and I am
fine with the current behavior.

Still, I hope you will at least consider the rest of my previous
message:

"I would like to suggest this point for consideration, but I realize the
team will choose to do as it pleases:

While the item itself did not suffer a physical commit, it did change
conceptually, because the parent folder was renamed and therefore its
path changed.
