Force an update to files

Hi,

I have just set up SVN on a folder. I have some files that I modified
myself before I set up the SVN.

These are not updated as the time stamp is more recent than the times
in the repositry.

Can I force an update?

I have been doing an update, then looking for files with a red
exclamation on them and deleting them one by one but as there are many
sub folders this is tedious.

I can not just delete all files as then I will lose some of the files
that are in the SVNd folders but are not part of the repository.

Any suggestions?
