Stefan,

no problem, I was just wondering why there was no answer on this post,
and was not sure if the description was clear enough that you or
anybody else could reproduce the problem. Just for your information, I
took a look at other merge tools, they all ignore any file encodings
and BOMs when patching or diffing files.
