Author not updated after change on server and Refresh

We have an SVN server on a Linux box and a bunch of users running Windows IDE's. We recently wanted to consolidate/deduplicate user names so I went to the server to update the author property.
While I was able to change the author successfully, TortoiseSVN->Repo Browser->Display log for the entire Repo, would not reflect the change after refreshing except that if you tried to change it using "edit author" the new name *would* show. Hitting "ok" caused TortoiseSVN to then reflect the correct author.
All the other methods of accessing the repo (Subclipse, svnlook, etc) reported the author correctly.
Note: For anybody trying to do mass author changes, this is the "wrong" way to make the change anyway. Fortunately I caught on to the fact that you can select multiple revisions and change the author on all at once...
