sktimestamp on xp: won't change folder "date accessed"

I am using sktimestamp v. 1.2. Having trouble making a change to Date Accessed "stick." I am trying to alter dates on folders on an external Seagate hard drive (NTFS), which is connected to a wireless router. I have changed the system on the accessing Dell Latitude laptop to something like 1/1/2005 (to prevent that computer's date and time from affecting access dates). That laptop is the only active machine on the network. I want to change all dates on certain folders (and their contents) to a
time in fall 2008. The Timestamp "property" tab comes up just fine, and I can change the "date created" and "date modified" on folders AND specific files. But the "date accessed" on the folders won't change, even if I alter the dates on the underlying folder content. Any thoughts?
