This is still an issue, unfortunately.

Version info from tortoise:

TortoiseSVN 1.6.7, Build 18415 - 32 Bit , 2010/01/22 17:55:06
Subversion 1.6.9,
apr 1.3.8
apr-utils 1.3.9
neon 0.29.3
OpenSSL 0.9.8k 25 Mar 2009
zlib 1.2.3

This is the latest stable release according to the site. I use Win XP (32 bit obviously) Pro. Very regularly (perhaps, 5-10 times a day) my computer completely locks up. I hit ctrl + alt + delete and find that TSVNCache.exe is using 50%+ cpu (that is, once task manager actually responds). I'm not actually performing any tortoise actions at this point, though I am navigating through explorer, so I presume it's a problem with trying to figure out where to draw icons and such.

Most of the time it's fine, then it suddenly spikes - when it does, however, the only thing I can do is kill the process.

I can appreciate that you can disable the cache (something I'm likely to try next), but generally one would expect caching to speed up an application. I would, then, expect that turning caching off to be worse than leaving it on.

Either way, there must still be something going on. This was reported several versions ago, and is still present on the latest release.
