Icons not showing up?

Hi,
     i'm having problems with adding in icons in windows xp service pack 3.
I go to settings>>context menu then click on the necessary icons that i
want to appear in the explorer, press apply but nothing changes :S. None of
the new icons appear (infact if you want to know the exact icons i chose it
was update, delete and merge), i tried the extended context menu as-well via
holding down the shift key but still nothing.
I'm using the latest version of tsvn 32 bit w/ windows xp service pack 3.
