Expanding on this, perhaps the OP accidentally mistyped the URL as
svn+ssh:/XXXXXXX_at_XXXXXX.XXX/home/XXXXXXX/data/repository/master_repository/
(missing the second slash), and then TSVN expanded it relative to the
TEMP folder for some reason?
