How To.

Hello,

I would like to clarify before people jump to wrong conclusion.

I am not looking for an "Auto Update" and not wanting the
"Check-for-modifications" Dialog box

I was wondering if it would be possible to have Tortoise check the
repository status in the background [slowly so it doesn't hog the
system]

Maybe once an hour or [user defined time] or maybe computer start up.

But not give the dialog box that there are updates, just change the
"overlay icon" similar to the "Modified" overlay when a user changes a
file on the computer, except this one just says the servers version has
been modified.

I know you have said there is a system limitation on useable overlays,
so maybe make this an "Opt-in" option rather than a core feature?

At the very least a command line feature for it so that way it would be
possible to make a few "Cron Jobs" or "Scheduled Tasks".

Hopfully I would be possible to specify the directory to check too, that
way you could set it to check different folders based on different
requirements.

For instance the ENTIRE repository every 2 days or so, but maybe set a
certain directory to check every hour..

I think this could be quite useful.

Thank you for your time and great program.

- Colin
