Server Repository Path problem

From: jbobst <jeff.bobst_at_acoustictech.com>

Our windows server path which has the SVN repository, occasionally gives us
an error that says:

The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions.
* Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
* Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.

The problem seems to be that our windows server "name" is done one of two
ways on our client machines:

http://servername.local/svn/repository
   - OR -
http://servername/svn/repository

Both work...some of the time, but I am not sure what the difference is in
the path name, or if it is the cause of the error. If they get the error,
they just change the path to the opposite one they have listed and then it
works...until some random next time. Any ideas?
