This is probably what you want to do:

Go to the old-v WC
Invoke the Revision Log:

go through the history, getting more log messages as is appropriate:

Once you have figured out which revision most closely matches what the
old-v WC was pointing to, right-click on that revision in the Revision
Log and click "Update item to revision"

Additionally, if this particular revision is important to you, you might
want to save it off in a branch so that you can retrieve it easily, and
not worry too much about the effects of inadvertent updates:
