Not able to authenticate, password prompt keeps popping up

I have my project hosted on code.google.com. I've created a local repository that I'm trying to import into my project on http://projectname.googlecode.com/svn/trunk (e.g. in my case http://walters.googlecode.com/svn/trunk ) & I get prompted for a username & password. I enter in the password for the project that is given to me from google (this is not my gmail password). After entering the username & password, I keep getting prompted until the program errors out saying authentication failed. I've cleared all cached information & un-installed & re-installed tortoisesvn with a reboot in between still with no luck. I also dowloaded the nightly build TortoiseSVN-1.6.99.17154-dev-x64-svn-1.6.5-dev & installed it & rebooted my pc, still to no avail.
