Here's the language progression to get to Hackability:

to hack (verb): to write code. This is the benign usage of hack.

hackable (adjective): possible to hack. To say that something is
"hackable" is saying that the the code is clear and understandable,
which makes it easy to maintain and extend.

hackability (noun): the measure of how hackable a particular codebase is.

The following statements are equivalent:
"The SVN codebase can easily be maintained, expanded and improved."
"SVN is easy to hack."
"SVN is very hackable."
"SVN has a lot of hackability."
