cached log missing rev in subdirectory but not parent

I'm using 1.6.5 Build 16974.

I had the default setting of Enable log caching on.

I recently did a merge and subsequently discovered the merge did not pull in a particular revision that it should have. It pulled in a change set that started before and ended after the missing revision.

I browsed the repo and saw that the revision was visible in the log at the parent directory level but not the sub-directory in which the files affected by the change resided.

I did a fresh checkout of the parent directory that should have contained the missing revision. The checkout contained the change.

I tried the merge again and the revision was still not included.

I tried merging the particular revision (by entering the number in the merge dialog) and that DID work.

I then browsed the log again and still did not see the revision in the list.

I was only able to see the revision by unchecking the "Enable log caching" box.

I thought this was peculiar enough to post.

Note: other people were able to see the revision, so the issue was definitely caused by caching.
