The way my employer receives tasking requires pretty much every
developer to be performing multiple tasks on a single product. At best,
we will often have many unrelated changes that should not be grouped
together in a single commit. Typically, many of the changes in our WCs
will not even be ready to commit. This is where changelists are very
useful to us.

I know that none of this solves your problem, but there *are* successful
and productive developers who have a workflow that differs radically
from your own. :)
