Problems with the Windows Installer

Hi,

I recently tried to update my version of TortoiseSVN to the latest version.
I am using Windows 2000 but I've also seen the problem outlined below on
my other machine running Windows XP.

So to start. Double clicking the .msi file started the install as expected.
I followed the instructions but on the 'Custom Setup' page I decided that didn't want
to install the 'US Dictionary'. The installer continued and proceeded to install
the files. After my machine restarted I was unable to use the newly installed version
of TortoiseSVN. The context menus were there but clicking on 'TortoiseSVN->About' for example
showed an error indicating some of the .dll files were missing.

I think this problem has been around for a while as trying older versions of the
software produced the same results on my machines.

Re-installing the full application installs everything correctly. So this issue is just
to do with installation of the selected components parts. I think this problem only effects the
first-time installation as once the install works it seems to work flawlessly there after.

As an aside to this but still to do with the installer - having installed the full application without any further
problems I get an error 2203 when I try to do a repair of the installation by re-running the .msi file. I only
came across this error when I writing this email and I wanted to know how I'd generated the original problem.

I hope the above information is useful.

Regards,
Leon
