Question mark icon is cluttered

The question mark icon used for unversioned files is visually cluttered.

It's worst when it is overlaying small non-folder icons. A lot of icons
have some blue in them, and the blue in the question mark merges with
the blue of the icon distorting its outline and making it hard to
recognize.
By overlaying the question mark I can no longer quickly visually
distinguish what the original file type is or the subversion status.

I suggest using a new shape or color, giving the question a dark shadow
or light outline, or embedding the question mark inside a bubble like
many of the other overlay icons.

Another problem is that at 16x16, the top of the question mark is
flattened. Questions marks are characterized by their rounded tops. It
is also partially transparent which doesn't help.

The XPstyle locked icon could also use some help. It doesn't have
enough contrast when overlain on a 16x16 folder icon.
