Visual C++ Runtime Error during commit

I'm consistently receiving the following runtime error during a commit of
around 1200 files that have been added:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\TortoiseSVN\bin\TortoiseProc.exe

This application has requrested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.

If I reduce the number of files the commit will succeed.

TortoiseSVN 1.6.2, Build 16344 - 32 Bit , 2009/05/09 13:46:29

This is happening on Vista Home Basic Service Pack 1.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this further will be greatly
appreciated.
