Hi,

I have a colleague with a similar issue too.

We have installed/de-installed TortoiseSVN 1.6.1.16129 win32 4 or 5 times now on his PC.
We have tried using the registry cleaner suggested and have also run dependency walker )against a working and non-working machine). We have also attempted several times to export a branch from our repository - without success.

We are running Windows XP Professional 2002 an IBM oem build - recently upgraded to SP3.

The TortoiseSVN installs do not fail with errors, but the exports (to setup the local working copies) do not work - meaning the icon overlays do not appear. The menu options appear on the affected machine but it is like the shell extension is only half working.

The PC (affected) is one in a Team of 4 PC's with nearly identical software pack lists and simialr specs - they are all database development centric machines. We had 1.5.0 successfully running on the other 3 - before upgrading them to 1.6.1... - though each took 2 or three attempts to get a successful upgrade. The affected machine has never had either version of Tortoise working.

Are there any other steps to try/consider before we look to rebuild the PC from scratch too?

Is there some level of dependency with the TortoiseSVN product and Java runtime versions? (Not sure if Tortoise is written in Java or C)
