Version 1.6: Sparse Check-out & Check for Modifications

I've just updated to v. 1.6.2 from 1.5.5, and have noticed a difference in
how Check for Modifications is working with Sparse Check-out.

I begin by checking out the root of the repository selecting "Immediate
children, including folders". In version 1.5.5 I could open Check for
modifications on one of the sub-folders (e.g. trunk) and, after clicking
"Check Repository", all files and sub-folders would be displayed a blank
Text Status and a Remote Text Status of "added". I could then update
individual files or folders to my working copy from the Check for
Modifications dialog. (This technique is described in
Checking out a Working Copy, Chapter 4 of the documentation. )

In 1.6.2 when I click "Check Repository" nothing shows up, i.e. it does not
show the files/folders not yet checked out. I can use the Repro Browser's
"Update to Revision", but this means I have to continually check the Repro
Browser to make sure a new folder hasn't been committed that I need to
update to my working copy. In 1.5.5, Check for modifications provided a
quick way of seeing which parts of the repository were not checked out
during the sparse checkout.

There are additional tick boxes in the Check for modifications dialog in
1.6.2, so perhaps I am missing something. I have tried ticking/de-ticking
these, but it hasn't helped.

I'd appreciate any advice on this. Otherwise I will start using Repro
Browser to populate sparse checkouts, but will have to update our internal
Many thanks,
