SubWCRev for different WC formats ?

Hi!

After upgrading one workstation from TSVN 1.5.9 to 1.6.2, the following problem occured.

In the project we use a copy of SubWCRev (commited in the repo) to get the
current SVN revision number, date, and other details into the built executable.

Now we have a problem. The SubWCRev in the repo does not understand the v1.6 WC format
and errors out. We could update the SubWCRev, but that could cause problems
for people using another version of TSVN or a completelly different software
to check out files from the repository.

What to do ?
Does the new SubWCRev also understand the older format ?
