"Compare with base" broken

After having upgraded to Tortoise 1.6.1, I am experiencing some problems with the view of differences.

For instance, when I scan a folder with "Check for modification", I have a correct window showing me the modified files.
However, when I double click or choose "Compare with base" (even with an external diff viewer such as WinMerge or internal diff), nothing happens.

In the same "modifications window", when I choose "Show difference as unified diff", I get the following error message (suppose the file is "MyPath\CMakeList.txt"):
"can't open "MyPath\CMakeList.txt\.svn\entries": Incorrect syntax for filename, folder or volume".

This seems to me a little weird.

Finally from the explorer, when I right-click on the previous modified file MyPath\CMakeList.txt, and I choose "Diff with previous version", I got the error message:
"Could not get the status!"

But the file was previously shown as modified...

I get all these error since my upgrade to Tortoise 1.6.1. I work either on shared or non-shared folders, and these same problems occur on 3 different computers, all running XP 32bits. Volumes are either on the network, NTFS or Ext2 (this last one on XP, but this volume was never accessed by any other OS than XP - since their is no other OS on this computer).
