Cached Username but not Password

From: <webpost_at_tigris.org>

We have basic authentication turned on, but unfortunately company procedure prohibits us from caching password details, even if encrypted. To reduce the burden of authentication it would however be permissable to cache/remember just the username.

Is this possible?

I notice in 1.6 there is now a default Username option setting in the 'servers' file which gets stored at %appdata%/subversion (%appdata%/subversion/auth is where the cached details are stored). I have tried setting this but Tortoise still asks for a Username.

Many Thanks
