Show log keeps loading

When I try to open the Show log for one of our trunks via the Repo-browser, it keeps loading. I cancelled it after waiting more than 5 minutes.
After trying to show the log for a small range of revisions, it took long again, and I cancelled it again. The strange thing was, I could do Show diff on the 'empty' list of logs.
We are currently at revision 1100+.
But for a newly created branch, the show log function does work properly.
