Enhancement request: Smarter checkout directory browser

From: Glenn Carr <GCarr_at_ConnectShip.com>

When I right-click on a directory and choose Checkout..., the default
value for 'Checkout directory:' suggests the path of the directory plus
the last directory name of the repository path which was defaulted in
the 'URL of repository'.

I can understand why this makes sense in some cases, but if I decide to
tweak that suggested path with the help of the directory browser, the
directory browser just comes up with a default location (under Vista64,
my user home directory), and it takes me several clicks to get back to
the approximate location I need.

I.e., I usually just need to change the deepest portion of the path.
Would I would prefer happen is that the directory browser set its
default directory to as much of the 'Checkout directory:' as it can. I
would think that the code would simply need to 'rip off' subdirectories
from the suggested path until it found a valid path, at which it could
use that to set the default directory... assuming there's not an option
to do that already in the API.

Thanks,

Glenn
