TortoiseSVN changes flags / permissions on working copy?

I have a working copy on a windows development server in my office. I use a
mac, and have used svn successfully with the working copy over the network.
However, when I updated the working copy from the development server itself
using tortoisesvn, its changed something and now I can't use it with my mac
anymore! I get the following output:

Tom:Web Tom$ svn commit -m "test commit"
svn: Working copy '/Volumes/Sites/hippo/svn/trunk/Source/Web' locked
svn: run 'svn cleanup' to remove locks (type 'svn help cleanup' for details)
Tom:Web Tom$ svn cleanup
svn: Can't move '.svn/tmp/entries' to '.svn/entries': Operation not
permitted

This is immensely frustrating: all the files and folders appear to have
access to everyone when I checked. Any clues?
