It does not seem to matter whether I choose to show the log for folders
or various files, I always get that crash.

I am checking out the source code and will try to make a build of that.
My past experience with trying to build someone else's C/C++ stuff have
been nothing but miserable failures. (If there would be a VS project
2008 file that would give me a headstart.)
