Exactly. Any software developed according to the Windows Driver Model runs
on kennel-mode. So, if the software makes anything wrong, then blue crash.
For instance, if the code uses a non-initialized resource (mutex, semaphore,
etc), then blue crash. It is very tough to develop at kernel level. ;(

And those are called: drivers.
(or are you referring to the kernel itself?)
