If the progress information was available in subversion then we would
certainly have a progress bar. But subversion doesn't provide it, so
the only way to get a progress bar is to ask on the subversion mailing
list for better progress info.

Well that should tell you something. Looks like a problem with your AV
or firewall. Try using https:/// instead of http://
