It has been like that for a very long time, maybe since the 1.2.0
release. The problem is that committing doesn't change the timestamp
of a file, so Windows sees it as unchanged. You can force a refresh
using F5 in explorer.

How big is your working copy? It may take the status cache process a
little while to catch up with reality.
