Aha, found what I'd seen before:

If you select a bunch of files and then drag them someplace else using
the outermost mouse button (depending on handedness), it will bring up
a context menu which contains, among other things,

"SVN Move versioned files here"
"SVN Copy versioned files here"

THAT was what I was looking for.
