In case the above message is really not right, check carefully that you
export the folder on itself
use the context menu entry "SVN Export to here"
the confirmation message should read like
"Do you want to make this working copy unversioned?" etc.

That's all I can do for you - I hope it helps (I tried it right now with
a subfolder of my working copy)
