Compiler deletes .svn folder

Hi,
I have a compiler that completely clears the output folder at the
start of a build. Unfortunately in the process it deletes the .svn
folder in the output folder.
This causes frustration when I want to revision control some files in
that folder.
Can anyone think of an easy way to deal with this?
(I cant find any compiler option to prevent the deleting).
