USAGE QUESTION: Manually combining SVN folders of the same tree

Hi!

I've been checking out subfolders of the same tree due to speed. So
I'd checked out the code first, then finally let the documents and
libs download in the background while I set up the project.

But when SVN iterated to the code folder, it threw an error saying
that folder was from another SVN action, or something like that, and
it couldn't just Update it anyway.

Is there a way to workaround it?

i.e

- project (checking out after)
 -- lib
 -- doc
 -- src (checked out already)
