Re: Can't install on Standalone W2K

Hello all,

it seems I'm running into a similar problem, though searching and
copying GDIPLUS.DLL didn't help in my case. Here's my story:

I am currently trying Subversion with TortoiseSVN for a small company.
To do so I have installed both software on a Test-PC and my work-PC.
Both are running WXP Pro and apart from my learning errors (which are
plenty) it works fine so far.
I'm using
- TortoiseSVN-1.5.3.13783-win32-svn-1.5.2.msi
- svn, version 1.5.2 (r32768)

For additional tests, I've just tried to install TortoiseSVN on a W2K
VMWare machine. The install fails. It complains (translating from
german) that "the install package can not be installed by the
installer service. You need to install another Service Pack for
Windows, which contains a newer version of the installer service".
Next I checked the W2K Version I was running and found out it was only
SP3. So I updated my VMWare to SP4, now running
"Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4
Build 2195"

I tried to install again, but the same message popped up.
Next I tried to install with Logging (as mentioned in above posts),
but it yield pretty much the same information:

=== Verbose logging started: 24.09.2008 14:53:57 Build type: SHIP

Next I tried to verify that TSVN is usable with W2K (should have done
so earlier, but it's so often just try and error).
The current documentation says it needs only W2K SP2.

So, right now I'm lost with this particular (virtual) machine.
Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance,
regards,
Pelle.
